Fund Anthias Labs in the creation of a 1inch delegate dashboard to highlight delegates and incentivize further decentralization and increased 1inch governance participation through more delegates and delegation.
Abstract
Governance participation has been a persistent issue for all DAOs. As this next cycle approaches, our team at Anthias Labs has been thinking about what sort of public tools could be best to facilitate further governance participation. This thinking has led to the motivation for this 1inch proposal.
Motivation
We have come to the conclusion that delegates are and will continue to be the main bastions of participation, so how can we help DAOs better highlight their delegates and incentivize more great delegates to join their ecosystems? Enter the Anthias Labs x 1inch Delegate Dashboard. This dashboard will display all necessary delegate information in a more effective and engaging manner than the delegate section of the 1inch Snapshot linked here: https://snapshot.org/#/delegate/1inch.eth. The delegate section on the 1inch Snapshot is helpful, but it does not do an adequate job of highlighting the strengths and participation rates of 1inch’s various delegates, so that more token holders can better decide who to delegate their voting power to.
Specifications
The Anthias x 1inch Delegate Dashboard will display information like the following and more, all in a sleek, engaging UI:
- Delegate information (Name, address, bio etc.)
- Delegate voting participation rate
- Last proposal Delegate voted on
- Delegate category (service provider, university, etc)
- Amount of delegation that Delegate currently holds
- Delegation forum post totals
- *And more
Along with this information and more, the dashboard will be updated when new delegates submit their application to the 1inch forum via the delegate platform.
The dashboard will be live at app.anthias.com/1inch-delegates.
Into the Future
However, the dashboard’s capabilities and incentive structures can expand even beyond this grant. In the future, our team could also create a delegate leaderboard to gamify participation and further incentivize delegates in that way. We could display charts with delegate activity over time and delegation received over time and track “hot” delegates. Our team at Anthias Labs believes that these ideas and more will help immensely increase governance participation in 1inch. And this thesis will be able to be clearly and objectively tested once this first Anthias x 1inch Delegate Dashboard is live.
Project Goals
The primary goal of this project is to increase governance participation further in the 1inch ecosystem, as well as incentivize the addition of future competent delegates to join the 1inch Governance Ecosystem.
Milestones
We see only one milestone necessary for this grant, which is the completion of the dashboard that includes the immediate addition of the current 1inch Delegates listed here: https://snapshot.org/#/delegate/1inch.eth.
Rationale
Our team is knowledgeable of the dashboard proposed by Karma in September of this year. This proposal unfortunately did not reach quorum in Snapshot. We have chosen the specifications and price listed in this proposal to address the issues we think might have led to this proposal not reaching quorum. We plan to make our dashboard significantly more robust and feature-rich, and our price is $13,500 compared to the $20,000 requested by Karma.
Considerations
Funding Request + Breakdown
We are requesting $13,500 for this Anthias x 1inch Delegation Dashboard. The $13,500 will be broken down into the following costs:
- $12.5k - contributor compensation for initial grant deliverable work
- $1k - technical costs (storage, database, etc)
We expect this grant to take around 4.5-5 weeks to complete from the time of approval.
Our team has explored the governance space at length and participated in a number of DAOs, primarily via risk management (we are an active delegate in DAOs and have seen these problems of participation firsthand).
